HP Compaq Presario V3715AU Drivers for Windows XP

Guiders for driver and installation for Windows XP Pro:

  1. Chipset Driver and LAN/Ethernet/Network Card Driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_630a_winxp2k_14.10.html.
  2. Nvidia Graphics: http://tinyurl.com/2q6ss4.
  3. For audio, you need MS UAA, with a reboot before Conexant Audio and Modem drivers.

Installation Steps:

  1. Install Microsoft UAA.
  2. Install Conexant HD Audio Driver (for AMD), after the installation it will prompt that the media is not found. Don’t bother about it and click OK.
  3. Go to Device Manager, you will see a question mark on the audio item, right click it and select “Update driver…”.
  4. Select “Use install from a list or specific location (advanced)”.
  5. Select “Don’t search I will choose the driver to install.”
  6. Click “Have Disk”, and go to C:\swsetup\SP33310, click on wis30B5a.inf and it will install the Audio Driver successfully.

Other device drivers such as Broadcom Wireless, Media Card Reader, AMD Update, Webcam are all here.

However, do not use bios, chipset, synaptics or graphics driver from the link.

Warning: Microphone doesn’t work with this audio driver.

UPDATE (27/04/2008):

Download and install Conexant SmartAudio 221from any of this two source:

Extract the files and run ‘Setup‘. Click ‘Yes‘ and ‘Continue anyway‘ once this two boxes showed up.

The installer might also inform you that the files installed is newer than the one inside this installer. Just click ‘Yes‘ to replace. Restart your PC.

Go to ‘Volume Control‘. Select ‘Properties‘ and choose ‘Conexant HD Audio Input‘. Click ‘Ok‘. Now you are looking at the ‘Recording Control‘. Click on ‘Advance‘ under ‘Microphone‘ and make sure ‘Microphone Boost‘ is ticked.

Do a simple recording test using ‘Sound Recorder‘. It should work now!

Note: The recording volume might be too low. In my case, I need to shout out real close to the built in mic. Its better to get an external set of Headset-mic.

  3. This Conexant driver may work better,even mic functions on many models.Use the force install procedure from DM directing to the unzipped folder.

  4. hi i cant download the SmartAudio 221 lah. anyway my problem is that whenever i jack in a headphone, the speaker will still kasi berbunyi2 lah so annoying coz x guna pakai headphone if org lain still boleh dgr apa yg kita mau dgr dalam headphone tuh~~ this doesnt happens with my v3614au

    I used to have the same problem. The speaker still make sounds even after jacking my headphone.

    However, the problem disappear once I turn off and on the laptop again. Restart will not work.

    hp it work well n can install but when i mute the sound the signal still show blue colour din change 2 red colour 1 beside tat can u guys provide me the right driver for the audio coz currently i get the audio driver from hp v3000CTO for vista amd 1 it work but the microphone cannt use

  14. download and install Conexant SmartAudio 221 from the link above. the mic problem will be solved. as for the blue color button, try to install HP Quickplay.
